Google’s WebP mixes JPEG-like photos, PNG-like transparency and GIF-like animation, usually at a smaller size. Browsers open it. Many desktop editors, printers and DAM systems still do not.
That is the whole job of this toolkit: turn WebP into something the next app opens, or turn a JPG/PNG into WebP for a website.

- WebP → GIF — short animations for places that still want GIF.
- JPG/PNG → WebP — shrink assets for the web.
Animated WebP to GIF keeps multiple frames when the browser exposes ImageDecoder. Otherwise you get a still.
